About Event

Renewable Energy at the Service to Mankind We cannot think of any activity that does not require energy. Hence it is aptly said that energy is life. It is the known fact that the conventionally available fuels sources are fast depleting and are scarce. Many Nations count on coal, oil and natural gas to supply most of their energy needs. Most nations are highly reliant on fossil fuel for their growth. Eventually, the world will run out of fossil fuels, or it will become too expensive to retrieve those that remain. Fossil fuels highly contribute to air, water and soil pollution, and produce greenhouse gases leading to the global warming. Renewable Energy a sustainable provision of energy meets the needs of the present without compromising the scenario of future generations. India is the first country in the world to set up a Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), in early 1980s.The RE is green, clean and sustainable. Serious thought needs to be accorded to evaluate the economic competitiveness of all available energy sources in the background of three main parameters. These relate to an increasing gap between the demand and supply of conventional power, accompanying transmission and distribution losses and importantly, the climate change process. Surely, RE is poised for a second big leap forward to lead towards sustained economic growth in the near future. The Seminar focuses on spreading awareness about the recent practices in the field of new and renewable energy. Also on recent practices in the field of renewable energy technologies that promote sustainable energy including renewable energy sources like hydro electricity, solar energy, wind energy, wave power, geothermal energy, artificial photosynthesis, biofuels, tidal power, etc. and also technologies designed to improve the energy efficiency. ABOUT THE CLUB The Renewable Energy Club (REC) had its inception in 2006 with auspicious initiation of New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP), Hyderabad. Since its inception Seminars, Quiz, Elocution competitions on Renewable Energy are conducted to create interest among students on renewable energy.

THE EVENTS  Plenary Lectures  Paper Presentation  Elocution Competition THRUST AREAS  Solar Energy  Hydel Energy  Wind Energy  Tidal Energy  Geothermal Energy  Biofuels  Hydrogen fuel cell and other emerging Technologies CALL FOR PAPERS The authors (all disciplines of under graduate students) are required to send a soft copy of the abstract by E-mail along with registration form on or before 08th February, 2014. The title should not exceed 50 characters & abstract should not exceed 500 words. (A4 size, double line spacing, Times New Roman and Font size 12). The authors’ per paper are restricted to two.
